Ryan Patrick received his Bachelor of Science in Sociology and his Master of Social Work from Kennesaw State University. Throughout his time on campus, Patrick became passionate as a student leader about creating affirming spaces for LGBTQ students and working with LGBTQ youth. His experience includes working in nonprofit administration at Atlanta area nonprofits serving individuals experiencing homelessness. He assisted in the development of Atlanta’s first Youth Host Home Program focused on housing LGBTQ youth experiencing homelessness. He has also worked in youth empowerment initiatives such as Girls Rock Camp ATL, a local nonprofit and summer camp where he served as the camp director for two years. Most recently, Patrick’s efforts have included working as a therapist with LGBTQ youth and young adults. His research interests center LGBTQ, transgender, non-binary and gender expansive communities as well as substance abuse, trauma, intimate partner violence, resiliency and community building
