Daniel Gibbs conducts research on improving professional decision-making within the child welfare and mental health systems. He uses quantitative, mixed, and econometric methods to advance innovative data science solutions, high-quality interprofessional collaboration, and effective judicial procedures.
Before arriving at UGA, Daniel practiced as an attorney representing the interests of children involved in the child welfare system. Daniel also engaged in policy advocacy regarding children and families, and participated in data-driven permanency interventions for youth at risk of aging out of foster care. His teaching background includes courses on policy analysis, policy advocacy, research methods, program evaluation, and child welfare practice.
